Wear Your Scars

Writer's picture: Maggie McgawMaggie Mcgaw

‘Why are you so open about such broken things in your life?’

Because…

Those scars are proof that the enemy did not win.

The effects those broken things had on my life were huge, and almost deadly.

AND, the rescue from God was bigger.

I wear my ‘scars’ proudly, because I pray my story of deliverance will give others hope.

I wear my scars proudly for the Maggie who was lying in the hospital hopeless, defeated, and lifeless.

I wear my ‘scars’ proudly to prove God’s faithfulness.

I don’t wear my ‘scars’ proudly to ‘prove’ the severity of the last several years.

I don’t wear my ‘scars’ proudly for pity or attention.

I wear my ‘scars’ proudly, to proudly show the goodness of God. Only God can do the things that were done, and I know He will and does do the very same thing for each of His children.

Invite others into your ‘scars.’

Share your rescue story.

Share the goodness of God.
