Don't Miss the Ride

Writer's picture: Maggie McgawMaggie Mcgaw

I found myself back in eating disorder treatment in the months of March, April, and May. It was twelve really hard weeks. The first two months were really draining, and took a lot of hope out of me.

I called my Grandaddy on one particularly challenging day, because sometimes you just need to hear your Grandaddy's voice! After my 30 minutes of phone time was coming to an end, and he had just finished praying over me, he stated four really important words.

"Don't Miss the Ride."

So often in life we, 'miss the ride.' It seems like it is always, 'Well after I do this, then I can be happy.' Or, 'After I have this I will be happy.' Or, 'Once I fix myself then I can live life.'

But...

Life is always going, There are so many beautiful things along the way. Even in the hardest of times, I believe God places things in our life He does not want us to miss. Whether it is scripture, people, nature, relationships, e.t.c. They all happen for a specific reason! Do not look past what God is placing in your life right now!

We can not, 'Miss the Ride.'

Do not miss out on life while waiting for what you think life is. Life is already here!
